Description
Stays abreast of commodity and industry trends and proactively studies the market for qualified suppliers. Ensures Supplier Manager is connected to the market. Acts as a primary facilitator of the contract negotiation process for small/ straight forward contracts. Facilitates the process for performing due diligence reviews on suppliers. Facilitates the re-evaluation of BAC relationships with suppliers using a consistent approach on a periodic basis. Periodically performs contract reviews in the San Antonio, Mainz-Kastel (Germany) and Okinawa purchasing locations. Performs procurement analysis to ensure purchases are appropriately authorized and executed through the proper channels.
Qualifications
Required Skills: "Must" have these skills to be minimally qualified.
Bachelor Degree or a min of 8 years experience in a procurement or contracting related field. Must be detail oriented. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex topics to a diverse audience (technical/non-technical). Strong problem solving skills. Must be able to multi task and meet deadlines. Strong PC skills primarily MS Word and Excel.
Desired Skills:
Masters Degree. Project management experience. Military or Civil Service background with logistics, contracting or finance experience. APDP Level II (or equivalent) certification in Purchasing or Contracting. Masters Certification in Government Contracting.
