Description
Provides administrative support within legal department under limited supervision. Skills require strong PC and administrative capability, as well as specific knowledge of legal processes. Produces various legal-specific correspondence and documents. Provide administrative and secretarial support to one attorney and one paralegal specializing in trademarks in the Intellectual Property Group. Provide secondary support to other attorneys/paralegals on an as-needed/as-available basis. Duties include typing memoranda and correspondence; answering telephones; proofreading; opening/closing files; general file maintenance; creating and maintaining large spreadsheets; preparing expense payments and reimbursements; making travel arrangements; scheduling meetings and conference calls; and related secretaries duties.
Qualifications
Required skills:
Accurate typing (minimum 65 wpm); proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel; organizational and general office skills; skill in writing grammatically correct routine business correspondence; accuracy; ability to organize workload and complete assignments within deadlines; ability to demonstrate good judgment; excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Minimum requirement high school diploma. Minimum experience is five years as an administrative assistant.
Desired skills:
Business school or college preferred. Corporate legal department or law firm trademark experience preferred.
