In 2009

  • Forbes magazine recognized two Bank of America senior female leaders in its September issue. Barbara Desoer, president of Home Loans & Insurance, and Sallie Krawcheck, president of Global Wealth & Investment Management, were ranked on Forbes magazine's annual list of the World's 100 Most Powerful Women.
  • Fortune magazine recognized Barbara Desoer, president of Home Loans & Insurance, and Sallie Krawcheck, president of Global Wealth & Investment Management as top women in business on its annual 50 Most Powerful Women in Business list.
  • US Banker magazine honored five top women leaders at the company in its October issue. Barbara Desoer, president of Home Loans & Insurance, and Anne Finucane, global chief strategy & marketing officer, made its 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking list. Sallie Krawcheck, president of Global Wealth & Investment Management, and Cathy Bessant, president of Global Corporate Banking, were named to the publication's 25 Women to Watch list. Candace Browning, president of Global Research, was ranked on the Top 25 Nonbank Women in Finance list.
  • For the 21st year Bank of America has been recognized again on the Working Mother magazine "100 Best Companies" for working mothers list.
  • Sallie Krawcheck, Global Wealth and Investment Management president, was ranked No. 5 in Crain's New York Business as one of the 50 Most Powerful Women in New York.
  • For the fourth year in a row the company scored 100% on the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index. The rating is based on the company's policies and efforts to support its gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender associates.
  • The Times newspaper in the United Kingdom recognized the company as one of the top companies for women in its annual "Where Women Want to Work Top 50" list.
  • The Wall Street Journal Europe recognized two Bank of America associates in its "Top Women in Finance" list: Eva Castillo, head of Global Wealth Management, EMEA, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and Sanaz Zaimi, head of FICC and Global Markets Structured Products Sales, EMEA, Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
  • Hispanic Business magazine selected Bank of America as one of its "Top 60 Diversity Elite" for the fourth year in a row. The recognition is based on the company's dedication to supporting Hispanics in the workplace.
  • Bank of America for the fifth year in a row was named to LATINAStyle magazine's "Top 50 Companies" list. The magazine ranks the best companies in the United States for Latinas to work at.
  • Black Enterprise magazine named Bank of America one of its "40 Best Companies for Diversity" for the fifth year in a row. The list evaluates a company's board representation, supplier diversity, associate networks, senior management and diversity programs.
  • Bank of America ranked No. 14 on DiversityInc magazine's "Top 50 Companies for Diversity" annual list. The company received special recognition on specialty lists: Top 10 Companies for Recruitment & Retention, Top 10 Companies for Latinos, Top 10 Companies for Executive Women, Top 10 Companies for Supplier Diversity.
  • Diversity Edge magazine's "Best Companies for Diverse Graduates" article ranked Bank of America at No. 9. This list recognizes companies that have shown leadership in recruiting, retaining and advancing the careers of diverse professionals.
  • DiversityMBA magazine again this year recognized Bank of America. The company ranked No. 8 on its "Top 50 Companies for Diverse Managers to Work" list. The list showcases companies that make a strategic effort to implement accountable diversity strategies for managers of diverse backgrounds to excel and develop into the executive ranks.
  • Bank of America again this year received Conceive magazine's "Top 50 Best Companies" award for offering generous fertility and/or adoption benefits.
  • Bank of America named in the top 50 companies for women by National Association for Female Executives.
  • Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption recognized the company for the third year in a row as one of the best companies for adoption benefits on its annual Best Adoption-Friendly Workplace list.

  • GI Jobs magazine continues to rank the company as one of the "Top 50 Military Friendly Employers."

  • Michigan Minority Business Development Council (MMBDC) recognized the company with its Corporate One Award for being fully engaged and supportive of the MMBDC and its mission of supporting diverse suppliers.
  • The Maryland Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, an agency of the Department of Defense, selected Bank of America for its "Above and Beyond" award in recognition of the company's support of men and women in the National Guard and Reserve.
  • Latino Future magazine chose Bank of America as one of its "Top 15 Companies to Have a Latino Future," honoring the company's ongoing diversity efforts.
  • Bank of America was recognized by US Black Engineer & Information Technology, Hispanic Engineer & Information Technology and Women of Color magazines as one of 2008's "Most Admired Employers" for minority professionals.
  • Bank of America received top honors in the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)'s Economic Reciprocity Initiative Report, which rates companies based on account employment, marketing/communications expenditures, supplier diversity, charitable/philanthropic giving and community service and reinvestment. The company received a score of 3.45 out of 4, the highest score ever awarded to a company by the organization.
  • The Long Island GLBT Services Network recognized Bank of America as one of the best companies for supporting GLBT individuals.
  • For the sixth time, Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) recognized Bank of America as one of America's "Top Corporations for Women's Business Enterprises (WBEs)." The award was presented to Bank of America for its companywide programs offering equal access for WBEs in competing for and winning corporate contracts for goods and services.
