Glossary

Analyst

 - An entry-level position for undergraduate and master's students in the Global Corporate and Investment Banking group at Bank of America. Research Analyst is a senior person who studies and analyzes financial markets. (Note: an entry-level person in Research is called an Associate.)

Associate

 - An entry-level position for MBA and advanced degree graduates in the Global Corporate and Investment Banking group at Bank of America. This is also the term used for an employee of Bank of America, also interchangeable with colleague.

BAC

 - Bank of America Corporation (NYSE: BAC), one of the world's largest financial institutions, serving individual consumers, small and middle market businesses and large corporations with a full range of banking, investing, asset management and other financial products and services. BAC holds more than $1,000 billion in assets, over 200,000 associates, and offices in 40 countries serving clients in more than 150 countries.

BAS

 - Banc of America Securities, a subsidiary of Bank of America Corporation. BAS is a full-service investment bank and brokerage company.

Campus Recruiting

 - A division of Global Human Resources within Staffing. Recruiting requires their candidates to be currently enrolled in a college/university/business school program that will result in a degree. Once the student graduates, they become eligible for Corporate/Lateral Recruiting.

Corporate/Lateral Recruiting

 - A division of Global Human Resources in Staffing. Corporate/Lateral Recruiting is considered any recruiting that takes place outside of the campus space.

Direct Hire Program

 - Any campus program that hires students directly into a full time position, which does not have a rotational aspect.

EMEA

 - An acronym for our Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

Final Rounds

 - An interview event at the end of the season to help determine final hiring decisions. Often, the final round event will be held in person and will give students the opportunity to network and meet the other students interviewing for opportunities at Bank of America.

Internship

 - A campus program offered at Bank of America, which is designed to help students gain experience. The majority of internships take place over the summer. Many internships offer the opportunity to be considered for permanent placement at Bank of America after degree completion.

Rotational Program

 - Any campus program that gives you the opportunity to "rotate" through different areas of the line of business in order to gain an understanding of several different functions. After the completion of a rotational program, the associate would be qualified to find a full time opportunity at Bank of America.
